In what in many ways was a leap of faith, I moved to Dallas, TX in July of 2012. This was just a couple of months after graduating from Baylor. I had never lived outside of Waco.
Over two years later, I am still here with no current plans to leave. Traffic aside, I like most things about the city. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone. And, you can always find something to do if you look hard enough. Or if you’re willing to drive just a bit.
The short list of my favorite things to do in Dallas includes:
- Visit Klyde Warren Park
- Walk/Run White Rock Lake
- Enjoy any number of the good burger places around town (Post to Come)
- Ride the M-Line Trolley
- Have some coffee at Café Brazil
Besides the everyday type things, there are a number of things to do in Dallas when they roll around or occasion permits, including:
- Catch a Dallas Symphony Orchestra concert
- Visit the State Fair of Texas
- Enjoy festivals such as the Deep Ellum Arts Festival
- Head out to the old drive-in theatre in Ennis, TX
And I could go on…
In two years I’ve found I’ve only scratched the surface of exploring Dallas. I’ve also found many life-long residents have barely done the same. It is easy to develop a bubble of everyday activity, but you can have some good fun by breaking out of that bubble.
As I try to accomplish this breaking out of the bubble, I’ll add post about these adventures here. Or, maybe I’ll share some pictures.
